Photographs from a two-week trip to Scotland in early fall. Emily and I rented a car and explored the entire mainland (we drove over 1300 miles!). From this trip, we made our way from the southern town of Kirkubright to Scotland’s most northerly point, Dunnet Head in Caithness. On our way north, we spent some time in Edinburgh and Inverness. We wrapped up our last few days in Scotland by wandering throughout Fort William, Loch Ness, Isle of Skye, and the Western Highlands.
It has always been a passion to document people who have inspired and influenced my work.
Throughout this year, I have been working on my first photography book, Faculty Department, a publication exploring the lives of creative individuals.
From the desk of Vince from Studio Faculty in Vancouver. At the moment, this is the current stage that we are in for creating this book.
This photo is from my inspiration board in my office from 2013 and has served as the foundation of Faculty.
Faculty Department Book Preview
I met Angus a few years ago, and I think he was one of the first few people I met in New York. It has been a great experience getting to know him and seeing how his passion for his craft and his love for the beach blend together. On one of our shoot days, we left town to Rockaway beach one morning, at about 6am. This shoot particularly helped remind me how important it is to make time for yourself.
When I moved to Cobble Hill in Brooklyn, I came across this home goods and lifestyle store called The Primary Essentials. I was picularly taken by this shop, not only for its curated home goods, but for its passionate feeling and sense of fashion. In getting to know the owner, Lauren Snyder, I quickly came to learn that she was a former stylist before opening the shop. The photos take a closer look at Lauren at home.
Art Comes First
I traveled to London for the first time this past May to photograph Sam Lambert and Shaka Maidoh of Art Comes First. Working often in men’s fashion, I was inspired by their style and lifestyle. It was such a pleasure to spend a day with them and see London through their eyes.
Tokuhiko is the owner of my favorite furniture shop, Truck Furniture. Based in Osaka, I went to spend time with him in the fall of 2013, and he was the first subject to be photographed for Faculty. I came across him through his catalogs that are sold at Kinokuniya, a Japanese bookstore in New York, and have been a fan of Truck ever since.
I met Thomas in 2011 when I was commissioned to work in Paris. At the time, he had just opened his cafe, Ten Belles. It has been a very exciting time for the coffee industry in Paris, and I was very fortunate to meet Thomas and be able to document him and his business over the years.

Land Rover Creative and Design Team Visit in New York
Land Rover Creative and Design Team Visit in New York.
Over the past week, I spent time with the creative and design team at Land Rover during their visit in New York. It is a very exciting time for them as they just have partnered with Virgin Galactic, as well as releasing a new concept on the Discovery. We spoke a great deal on the design process and their personal inspirations that have influenced their work. I have always been drawn to their cars, and this was a unique experience to get to know the people behind it.
